The Ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera
The Orthodox Church Music Ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera was created in 1972. Over the last years the Ensemble gave 800 concerts, filling churches and concert halls with crowds. Thousands of music lovers and specialists discovered with amazement the enchanting polyphony of the Slavonic East that can be found only in its temples or in its old liturgical texts.
Concerts were given both for domestic audiences in Poland and abroad. The Ensemble toured France, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, Australia, Japan and South Korea. Press review were always full of praise over the unusual subtlety of the vocal substance and the high performance skills. Radio and television stations in the countries visited by the Ensemble devoted numerous programs to their work and artistic achievements.
On a number of occasions they contributed their voices to films by, among others, Wajda, Skolimowski, Majewski and Hoffman.
